Posted in Events, Glam Designer Review with tags chivas fashion tour, fashion week, karan johar, rohit bal on September 28, 2008 by glamjunctionIt was the opening day of the Chivas Fashion Tour, which will span for about a week, and Rohit Bal displayed his creations. With a lot of florals with a dark metallic feel to them and lot of signature metallic numbers, some of the pieces has a mysterious, almost gothic feel to them. Bal himself wore-surprise-jodhpurs which were even seen on the ramp in black velvet. Karan Johar walked the ramp in a rough ‘n tough mode! A glimpse of the runway in pictures..
Growing Old Gracefully

Rekha is one who is so unaffected by what’s happening in the fashion world but she has her own signature style, and we love it! She came out at the IMPPA event-where she was getting honored with an award-in signature gold sari and a pouch/jholla. Very Glam!
Glam Readers: Manasi’s Clutch
Posted in glam readers with tags ceo, jimmy choo, manasi scott, tamara mellon, zebra print clutch on September 26, 2008 by glamjunctionOur reader kin pointed out that Manasi’s clutch was the same as Tamara Mellon, the CEO of Jimmy Choo at the Emmys. But it wasn’t.
Tamara’s whole ensemble minus the shoes was from the Halston Spring 2008 Collection, and so was the clutch.
But another regular reader, avneet, pointed out that it might be ALDO. Though we still haven’t found it on ALDO ourselves!
Almost, but not quite.

We always get our hopes up when we see celebs who dress well. But, oh well.

Posted in Events, glam summary with tags amara collection showcase, dimple kapadia, glam summary, gul panag, meghna naidu, Nina Manuel, urvashi kaur on September 25, 2008 by glamjunctionWow, what a disappointment.
We love Meghna’s color combination, but the dress needs to fit better, there is something missing there.
Coming to Nina, we expect so much more from her, not those awkward jeans, please!
We think out of all these ladies, Gul did much much better, wearing an Urvashi Kaur creation, we love her dress, though the length can be compromised. And we absolutely L-O-V-E her hair!
Coming to the ever-elegant Dimple, we think she didn’t do as well as we’d liked. We thought the color was a tad bit too bright. And the footwear didn’t do much for the outfit either
Aishwarya Does Vogue (Oct ‘08)
Posted in Bollywood Style, Magazine Covers, Vogue with tags aishwarya rai bachchan, christian dior, fall 2008 couture, october 08, Vogue, vogue india on September 25, 2008 by glamjunctionFinally, a minimalist cover from vogue, not photoshopped to the max. And finally Ash not acting fake as she always does. But, somehow it doesn’t say ‘Vogue’ to me. Its very wedding-y I feel. Though she wears Dior couture which is beautiful and she wears it well, I don’t see how this could be the cover of a ‘Glamour Issue’. Other than that I have the usual issue with the set, I mean just a brown sofa is a serious disappointment. I would have loved some classic furniture.
Cosmopolitan Magazine September ‘08

We thought Sania looked extremely photoshopped, and could have worn something much much better, never mind her being a sports star, she didn’t HAVE to wear a sports brand. We’re also really annoyed that they have completely changed her complexion.
While Bipasha’s cover was much better, it could have been better with the clothing and a little less wind!!
